Entrance road
- Are the access routes free and easy of access for cranes and the counterweight trucks ?
- Are the roads paved ?
- Can the slope be taken? What is the angle of inclination ?
- Are the roads sufficiently wide ?
- Are there any obstacles: hydrants, traffic signs, bridge (limited tonnage), … ?
- Any obstacles on a height: pipe racks, bridges, tunnels, … ?
- High/low-tension cables, …?
- Height ?
- Maximum bend ?
- Assembly of the jib ?
- Is there enough space for the assembly of the jib ?
- Is there enough space for the assembly of the crane ?
- Is a diversion necesarry ?
- Necessary to close the escape routes ?
Set-up
- Is there enough space for the erection of the crane ?
- Is full outrigger base possible ?
- Can counterweight truck pull up next to crane ?
- Can the crane lift and put down its own couterweights ?
- Can the crane rotate 360° ?
- If there are restrictions, are they an obstacle ?
- How many cranes on the same spot ?
- Can the main boom rotate without hindering another ?
- Towercranes on the same site? What is there height and radius ?
Underground
- Is the erection area paved ?
- "Proofs of pressure" or probes ?
- What is the maximum permitted ground pressure ?
- Underground pipes: sewer-pipes, high-tensoin cables, … ?
- Underground pits, collection mains, … ?
- Any determination of visible damage before the start of works ?
- Supply of partitions, steel plankings, sand-beds ?
- Check the difference in height between the outriggers ?
- Can the charge be supplied in a horizontal way ?
Wind
- What is the maximum permitted wind speed ?
- Direction of the wind ?
Load
- Is the proper weight known of the charge ?
- Are these facts known so that it can be controlled ?
- Is there any residue of the product left behind ?
- Should this be removed ?
- What is the weight ?
- Is the charge attached to a socle or a foundation ?
- Undo and jack the bolts ?
- Lifting lugs fixing points available ?
- Are these items inspected and is the cerfiticate of inspection still valid ?
- Possible bend of the charge ?
- Can the charge be brought under the cranehook in an horizontal way ?
- Is the lay-down area big enough ?
- Should this area be clared ?
- Can the underground take these pressures?
Hook on
- A need for special hoisting materials ?
- Spreader ?
- Lifting beam ?

- Fits the hoisting material in the lifting lugs or the the fixing points ?
- Can the attachment happen on the ground-floor ?
