1967
Cranes Michielsens is an Antwerp-based family company that was founded by Yvon Michielsens. The street where the newly founded company was located was called... the ‘Oranjestraat’, or ‘Orange Street’. This resulted in the company colour, which we still use proudly.
1978
On the one hand, Transport Michielsens targets the transport of ballast elements that are part of the fixed equipment of large cranes. On the other hand, it executed special transports projects for clients, such as tanks, metal structures, air-conditioning cabinets, concrete elements and even yachts.
1988
An Assembly department is founded, which handles assembly, disassembly and moving of industrial machines, installations and factory parts.
1995
Regional expansion of the crane company: an additional branch in Ghent (Zelzate)
2000
Regional expansion of the crane company: an additional branch in Brussels (Vilvoorde)
2002
Regional expansion of the crane company: an additional branch in Charleroi (Courcelles)
2003
Expansion and rejuvenation of the cranes and transport fleet: purchase of 59 new vehicles.
International expansion of the crane company: an extra branch in the Netherlands (De Meern)
2005
Move of the headquarters from Deurne to Wijnegem.
Expansion of the fleet with 85 cranes as a result of the merger with crane rental company Vandeweghe.
2007
Expansion and rejuvenation of the fleet: purchase of 40 new cranes
2008
Expansion and rejuvenation of the fleet: purchase of 7 new transport lorries and 15 cranes
2009
Renewal of the certification of the safety systems: VCA petrochemicals
2010
Michielsens has won the Trends Gazelle Award 2010 in the province Hainault
2012
Michielsens rejuvenates the fleet with the purchase of a new 400 ton-crane and a handful of 100 ton-cranes
2014
Michielsens has won the ESTA- Award granted by the European Crane Federation
2015
Substitution of the fleet with 9 new machines
2016
Michielsens wins a Safety Award, from Transport Media
2018
Johan Michielsens leaves the company. Jack Hansoul becomes General Manager.
